The conversion of alcohols and aldehydes is one specific chemical reaction to manganese oxide. Manganese dioxide won’t oxidize alcohols that have a double bond.
No matter how active a product may be, it will not be oxidized again. Manganese dioxide can convert diols into dialdehyde. There are many other reactions that manganese dioxide can perform. These include the oxidation and synthesis of aromatic substances, trils, and amines.
