tin 4 sulfate is an acid and moderately water soluble tin source that is available in most volumes. It is often used in metal sulfate applications such as electroplating, dyeing and other tin related processes.

Titanium can be meaured at trace concentrations by flame-AA using a nitrous oxide-acetylene flame. It is also soluble in hot concentrated sulfuric and hydrofluoric acids and is stable with alkalies. Ti combines with several other halogens at elevated temperatures to form alloys. For example, it reacts with fluorine at 150degC forming titanium tetrafluoride, TiF4. The reaction with chlorine occurs at 300degC to form tetrachloride, TiCl4. The metal can be dissolved in nitric acid at ordinary temperatures but hot concentrated nitric acid will oxidize it to titanium dioxide. Alternatively, it can be heated with sodium hydroxide at 600degC to produce titanium sulfate.
