What does potassium silicate mean? Potassium silicate Also known as potassium metasilicate. There are three kinds of it: 1K2SiO3=154.29; colorless crystal which is usually greenish or blocky. Its melting point at 976. It can be dissolved in water. Alkaline, insoluble in water and insoluble with ethanol. Acids decompose and produce silicic acids gel. It absorbs water in the atmosphere and deliquesces. 2 K2Si2O5=214.37. Colorless rhombic crystalline. The melting point is 1015 +-10 and the relative density is 2.556 (25/4). 3 K2Si4O9 *H2O=352.56, white homobic crystal. Its relative density is 2.4117. The temperature at which it can be broken down to 400 is sufficient. It dissolves in water, but is insoluble when ethanol. This is made by heating potassium carbonate (or potassium hydroxide) with quartz sand to a high temperature. It has strong alkaline reactions and is hygroscopic. Potassium Silicate can be easily decomposed and precipitated in acidic environments. Potassium Silicate is used in the manufacture of welding electrodes. The wide variety of uses for potassium silicate are evident. Potassium silicate elements are very similar to potassium feldspar. It’s therefore important to learn how to break down potassium feldspar in order to create potassium silicate.

Produce potassium silicate glass
Step 1. : Combine tetraethyl orsilicate, water, ethanol and stir to make a homogeneous mixture. Mix the hydrochloric acid with KCl solution one at a time under stirring conditions. Make a mixture. Step 2 – Place the mix solution in an oven. Continue constant temperature treatment until the gel forms. Step 3 – After the gel has formed, turn down the oven heat and continue constant temperature treatment for 50-60h. At 200300 degrees, place the crucible into the oven. Turn the oven to 500°600. The oven should be closed after a constant temperature process for approximately 2 – 3 hours. It is safe to take out the pan after the half-finished potassium silicate product has been brought up to room temperature. It is now possible to make potassium silicate glasses. The glass has high purity, uniformity and requires very little production equipment.

High modulus potassium silicate organic nano resin preparation
Mixing raw materials with high-modulus potassium slicate inorganic inorganic nano resin is the final step in the preparation procedure. To mix raw materials, add low modulus potassium slicate aqueous solution, stirring to make an eddy, then add water and silica sol. Finally, add stabilizer, stabilizer, and coupling agents to turn the mixture into a uniformly mixed product. Prefabricated potassium silicate organic nano resin can be prepared by heating the mixture at 4080 degrees. Next, heat the prefabricated mix to 4080 degrees. After that, circulate the heated mixture in the reaction system. This includes a mixer, pump and high gravity rotating packed. You will get potassium silicate nano resin. It has a modulus of 5.36.2 and solid content 26%30%. Particle size is 520nm, yield of 99.5%99%. This not only increases product quality and stability, but it also reduces reaction time and lowers energy consumption.

The price of potassium silicate
Price will depend on how large and pure the potassium silicate is. The purchase volume may also have an effect on its cost. Large quantities of small amounts will result in a lower price. On our official website, you can see the price for potassium silicate.
