There are a few different kinds of rings and the choice is often based on what type of metals they are made from. These can include silver, platinum and palladium. The other popular metals are titanium, zirconium and tungsten.

Platinum Rings

Platinum is a hard metal that makes a beautiful and durable ring. It can be alloyed with other metals to increase its properties and give it a variety of colors and designs.

It is very expensive but can last a lifetime and never need to be polished or re-sharpened. It is also very hypoallergenic and won’t cause allergies.

Titanium Rings

There are many types of titanium that are used in jewelry. One of the most common is called “aircraft grade” or “6AL-4V”. This blend consists of 90% titanium, 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium.

This is one of the strongest alloys on the market and will resist wear much better than basic titanium. It will also be able to hold up under more pressure, making it a great option for wedding bands and engagement rings.

Black Zirconium Rings

A black zirconium ring is usually made from oxidising the metal to create a layer of black oxide. This can be plated with gold or silver to add a shine.

Steel Rings

Stainless steel is another metal that can be crafted into rings, though it is less glamorous than titanium and platinum. This is a more resilient metal that can withstand more pressure and be shaped into intricate patterns.
