phosphomolybdic acid solution, also known as phosphomolybdenum blue, is one of the solutions fixed tissues are immersed in prior to subsequent staining. It is used for the spectrophotometric determination of phosphate ions and is a component in a 3-color histology stain called Masson’s trichrome; it is also used as reagent for simple and rapid colorimetric determination of phenothiazine derivatives such as thiophene, quinoline and pyrazolone.
Synthesis, characterization and evaluation of vanadium doped phosphomolybdic acids as catalysts for geraniol oxidation with hydrogen peroxide in CH3CN. Using geraniol as model substrate, the effect of main reaction variables such as temperature, load catalyst, molar ratio oxidant: substrate and reaction time were investigated.
The monosubstituted H4PMo11VO40 was the most active catalyst compared to other di- and trisubstituted phosphomolybdic acids. This was mainly due to its highest Bronsted acidity and reduction potential. However, its conversion and selectivity toward geraniol epoxide were not the same as those of di- and trisubstituted acid.
Poly[N-9′-heptadecanyl-2,7-carbazole-alt-5,5-(4′,7′-di-2-thienyl-2′,1′,3′-benzothiadiazole)] (PCDTBT) is shown to be simultaneously cross-linked and p-doped when immersed into a phosphomolybdic acid solution, yielding conductive films with low solubility that can withstand the solution processing of subsequent photoactive layers in organic solar cells. Such a modified PCDTBT film improves hole collection and limits carrier recombination in organic solar cells.
A convenient method is reported for immobilizing phosphomolybdic acid on a polyaniline (PAN-) functionalized carbon support in order to prepare a Pd/HPMo-PAN-C catalyst. The resulting HPMo-PAN-C catalyst exhibits high catalytic activity for the conversion of structurally different epoxides to their respective 1,2-diacetoxy esters under solvolytic or solvent free conditions.
