ti3c2tx exhibits high electrical properties, including low polarization loss and an excellent resistance to current-voltage (RV) mismatch. This property makes it a promising candidate for high-frequency electronic applications such as power electronics and optoelectronics.

ti3c2tx shows electrochromic behavior owing to the intercalation of o-li bonds and emerging bands. This study reveals the mechanism of electrochromic behavior and lays the foundation for designing 2D materials with durable, controllable, and efficient intercalation-induced electrochromic behaviors.

A Pt-ti3c2tx sensor based on the modified surface of Pt atoms was developed to detect triethylamine (TEA). The sensors were successfully stable in the detection of various VOCs gases at room temperature for 20 days without the need to be recharged and were resistant to humidity. Moreover, the gas-sensing performance was enhanced by the adsorption of ethanol molecules on the surface of the sensor.

To study the electrochemical behavior of ti3c2tx during aging, the conductivity of the sample was determined after aging in water, acetone, and acetonitrile for 21 days. The oxidation of ti3c2tx in water was observed at a higher rate than that in acetone and acetonitrile. This oxidation was associated with the hygroscopicity of water.

The oxidation of ti3c2tx was significantly suppressed when the synthesis method was modified, which could be explained by an increase in etching time during the EN-MILD approach. The number of defects in the flakes and titanium dioxide particles also decreased. Hence, this synthesis approach enables the production of high-quality ti3c2tx flakes and is suitable for further application as an electrochromic material.
